Oh...I had an idea...

So, I had a thought, and it might be way out there, but i thought since we're doing base costumes and then just adding pieces, each person could have a specific color or theme (like floral prints or plaid). that way, it's pointed out even more when lanky is saying he recognizes people.

Design Meeting

Pat, pat, we all met...well at least some of us.

The kind members of our assemblage were: Jen, RaMina, Julianna, Tyler, Tim, David, Rachel and a guest appearance by Chris Hardy.

The proceedings were as follows:
-David recaps the Reading/Chilli Night. It went really well; people were laughing at stuff and the chilli was tasty.
-David's big priority for this process is to keep everyone intellectually engaged
-We'd like to use this meeting to get everyone on the same page so that we can start doing some hard core thinking over break.
-David wants our work to start from ideas, using formal qualities "methods style."
-David asks what people want go get out of this process/what they need from him as a director:
-Jen: Lots of feedback from multiple sources
Make sure the elements of the world don't clash
Comedy = clean, precise
Maybe get in touch with Chandra to find out logistics of costuming a Phil show
Jen and RaMina are going to make a collage!
Time with actors, understanding of actors that they'll need to bring stuff in
-Tim: hearing conversations, keeping in contact with rest of design team
Wants to know rehearsal schedule so that he can come in and guage little things like how tall people are
An assistant would be cool
Tim needs a script!
-Julianna: wants lots of feedback
Needs lots of time, this can't be a last minute thing
How much can she deviate from the script to create comic business?
It would be great for Julianna to be able to work independently with actor playing Lanky
Will come to initial movement workshop, help us build vocabulary
-Chris: needs people to help give ideas
An AD would ROCK
-Here's what David expects from everyone involved in the process:
-Commitment
-Collaboration
-Communication
-David wants the proposal to be so shiny that Phil Board is literally blinded by it.
-He'll start working on it over break and email it out so people can comment
-It would be great if we could come up with some possible solutions to the practical challenges of the play
-We briefly discussed our impressiosn of the play, especially the ending which could potentially be really cheesy
