Design Meeting 4.12

DESIGN MEETING
4.12.05

PROPS: Wheelchair, real chair with cardboard wheels
We’ll suggest it tonight during the run-through
TYLER: get dummy from Ms. Hummel (we may have to return it every day)
We don’t really need to go to departments for money
SOUND: Gonna buy a sound CD
Talk with Em about coordinating sound and music
We want to mike the mayor
Talk to Gordon about setting up sound equipment!!
Geoff will bring some stuff for people to listen to during rehearsal tomorrow
COSTUMES: Has been pulling stuff/getting from Phil closet
Going to shop this weekend
Coordinating with Chris
Ordered clown wigs
Except for dog pound we know what everyone’s wearing
Will post on blog tonight
Clerks: a bag of skittles exploded on stage
Still need funny boxers
We need rehearsal pants
Jen and RaMina will take a look at quick change stuff
Once we get into the Shiva, Jen can organize a costume parade so we can see everyone’s costumes at once
Wigs Ian (red), Sarah (orange), Ben (yellow), Lisl (green), Patrick (blue)
1.2: Very pink
Clerks: Midway
Dog pound: Freak-show
Magician: Friends when they get old
Inauguration: The parade
SET: Back wall will be opaque fabric (there are conceptual reasons)
Things will be able to really disappear behind the back wall
Dog pound will be the mirror image of clerk scene
Bedroom: Door up right, desk down left, building bed
Chris will price the cloth tonight
Ribbon in inauguration scene will be free-standing
Chris will draft the door on Friday
Question of how curtain will be hanging
LIGHTS: No scrollers (getting creative)
Hideous fluorescent colors
Really specific placement of set pieces
Clerks: light comes from behind clerks windows
Dog pound: cast shadows of people sitting in front row
PROPS: Glenda has a bucket of props and did some shopping today
Needs to buy felt soon
Maybe Rachel will drive Glenda tomorrow…maybe…
Stamps: action and sound, clerks wear stamps on necklaces
Ask Paul about stamps, foam props (email paoconnor)
Work out radio with Geoff
Buckets from the Shiva

EVERYONE: Think about how much of the space is being used
Don’t get too caught up in the chaos, keep the message in mind
Find ways to engage the audience
The Stage Hand: Joanna will be very involved in the production
Comes on stage for transitions, “special effects”
TYLER can take care of advertising and program

NEXT MEETING: Sunday at 3 or 4 (Tyler will let everyone know)
